Day 1: Las Vegas - The Grand Canyon South Rim

Introduction:

Las Vegas

Las Vegas' nickname is "Sin City" and you'll find out why when you visit; the Strip is full of casinos, night clubs, indulgent pools and replicas of some of the world's most popular tourist attractions. Looking for Things to Do & Activities in Las Vegas? The city is located in the heart of the Mojave Desert. During the day you can bask by the pool, take a helicopter tour, enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet or view magnificent shows in Las Vegas such as Cirque du Soleil, David Copperfield, or the classic Jersey Boys show! Dine at many five-star restaurants with world-renowned chefs and then check out the nightlife at Mirage or any of the hotels on the Strip. Don't forget to watch the spectacular water show at the Bellagio or visit the aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Throughout your stay, remember "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," so no worries!

Hoover Dam

This concrete marvel spanning the Colorado River in Black Canyon was built between 1931-36 and originally called the Boulder Dam until it was renamed in 1947 after United States President Herbert Hoover, who played an important role in getting it constructed. Hoover Dam extending from the states of Arizona and Nevada is one of the largest man-made structures in the world at 1,244 feet long and 726 feet high. It produces hydroelectric power, supplies irrigation water and prevents flooding. The U.S. National Historic Landmark that created Lake Mead is visited by more than seven million people annually. Hoover Dam designed by engineer John Savage and architect Gordan Kaufmann. Located nearby Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon, plenty of Hoover Dam tours will include a visit to all three of these amazing attractions.

Grand Canyon South Rim

80 miles north of Flagstaff is the scenic Grand Canyon South Rim, the most popular side of the canyon. Receiving over 5 million visitors a year, the southern rim is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise over the Grand Canyon East Rim from Mather or Yaki Point. Or one can head over to Desert View Point to see the picturesque Watchtower, a historical recreation of an ancient tower that once stood over the canyon, and another pristine spot to receive a panoramic view of the canyon. There are a handful of hotels in Flagstaff or the nearby small town of Tusayan, but a trip from Las Vegas is manageable.

Tour Overview:

Today we'll begin our 2 day tour from Las Vegas.

We will travel along U.S. Route 66 (US 66 or Route 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System.

Finally we will visit Grand Canyon South Rim.

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is the most visited location at Grand Canyon National Park, with over 5 million visitors each year coming to this amazing landmark. As with all sides of the Canyon, the South Rim features astounding views of what took Mother Nature millions and millions of years to create.

We will then visit Lake Powell View Point and Zion National Park

Zion National Park

A hiker's and photographer's dream destination, and while it's in the desert, the terrain is never barren. Formed by erosion over millions of years, the park's varied rock formations, countless wilderness trails and one-of-a-kind wildlife beckon to those seeking solitude and inspiration. The park's many canyons, and cultural sites are perfect for exploring in any season, but spring and fall are the most pleasant, and the flowers are in full bloom.

It can't be possible if we go by ourselves for many places in short time like this. Mr.Peter Liu is kind and keep schedule time to complete all traveling lists. And we completed the mission. Luckily our tour members chosen same optional. Grand Canyon, page, Zion national park is very impressive and beautiful. For customers service chatting window is very kind too. I contacted too many times for many questions and the answers always reply. Thanks

Amazing!
Took a 2 Day Grand Canyon Upper Antelope Tour. Elain, our tour guide, was very caring and made sure that we enjoyed our trip to full. The hotel stay was perfect. I would definitely recommend it if you don’t want to drive on your own and enjoy the scenic view around with ease.
